What NOT to do when cutting velvet

Today I wanted to do a post about how to cut and fuse a jacket. In this case, I was using a velveteen cotton that I have been saving for this winter. In my haste to cut the fabric and get it to the Garment Fusing Service before having to pick up my girls from school, I made a terrible faux-pas! I’m ashamed to admit it, even though I know that it happens to the best of sewers. I will post about it tomorrow as I’m still feeling quite raw about it. Oh, and just to rub salt in the wound is the fact that the fabric has sold out! AAAARRRGH!!

Can anyone guess what I did wrong?
