Lily’s $10 Roll Dress!

Here’s a gorgeous dress made up by staffer Lily, who was clever and quick to grab a roll of this panel print silk habutai in our recent $10 roll sale. The roll had some minor flaws, but nothing we can detect from here. Or can you?
This maxi dress is quick and easy, with no pattern required. Lily cut out a rectangular front (on the fold) and back with shaped armholes and keyhole opening at centre back seam. Front and back were then gathered and attached to a neck piece and the opening is secured with long lengths of soft grosgrain Mokuba ribbon that hang down centre back. That’s it, a quick and satisfying sewing project for the summer festive season!
Stay tuned for another (simpler) version of this dress, made by sister Ruby in Modiccian Mosaic
