Pattern Review – Burda 7517

Today I had my last sewing group/class here for 2013. I’ll miss hanging out (chatting mainly) with my sewing buddies on Monday mornings, but we all need to recharge and wind down to get ready for the silly season and also give teacher Bernadette a well earned break!

Here’s a quick blog post to share this great pattern and dress made by fellow sewing buddy Margaret. The pattern is Burda 7517, a simple a-line dress with stitched down pleats at the waist with additional option (view B) to add a tie belt to wrap at the waistline. Margaret chose to make her dress in our soft lightweight Italian 100% cotton Boxed In (available Melb only) and chocolate brown Mokuba grosgrain ribbon for the tie belt.

There are already a few reviews for this pattern, see herehere, as well as Little Betty, who morphed this pattern together with our Lily Linen Dress. Definitely a great pattern and worth considering for Summer.
