Hail King Ken…
Here at Tessuti, we’re more than a little over the moon to be launching our new online shop. Have you seen it yet? This one’s been a looooong time in the making.
The man behind the change is our web maestro/master/guru Ken Davis. Or King Ken. You choose. He’s put an enormous amount of time, skill, energy and patience into this new look and on behalf of all of us at Tessuti, we’d like to say THANK YOU Ken!
This change is all about improved usability for you. We hope you now find it easier to browse the fabric collections and find exactly what you’re looking for. Some of the improvements include larger photos, more fabrics to view per page, and a clearer page numbering system allowing easier access to pagination.
Check it out and let us know what you think, yeah?
Happy shopping….
xx
I'm lovin' the new shop…it has me drooling over even more fabric:-)
Thank you Colette. It is always an absolute pleasure working with you and the Tessuti team.
You all have a wonderful (and inspiring) passion for your work and your customers. Tessuti is traditional in it's values and attitude towards quality service for your customers, and from what I've seen, it is appreciated too.
Tessuti has been the perfect client for me. You're all open to new ideas and willing to try new approaches to sharing your passion with others, with a genuinely progressive attitude towards the internet. You make it easy (and enjoyable) to work with you, and I look forward to helping you to build your online presence in the future.

Looks FAB!! Well done Ken!
Had a little peek yesterday actually, and found some stuff I wish I'd asked Mum to get for me when she was in on Monday! Oh well!

Congratulations on a brilliant new online shop. It's so easy to navigate and the fabrics are soooo tempting! My only suggestion is to change the pricing to per metre instead of per quarter metre. Psychologically it works much better to have the full price up front, instead of multiplying by four.
Hi Hot Fudge. Thanks for your feedback.
We actually started out selling fabric by the metre in the first version of the online shop (this is now the third version).
In the first version we really were just testing the waters, seeing if people would even be interested in seeing fabrics online, and trying to work out how people would prefer to buy them online. At the time we had a bit of feedback from customers that wanted to buy fabric online in smaller lengths.
This is something that we really were torn in both directions – ease of use (by the metre) versus convenience (shorter lengths).
After some lengthy discussions, we all decided it would be better for the customer to be able to buy fabrics by the quarter metre. It makes it fairer in the end – less wasted fabric. No need to buy 2 metres if you only need 1.25metres.
In both the fabric collections page (where all the fabrics are listed) and the fabric's details page, we display the price per metre as well, to try and help make it easier to calculate the full price.
At the moment, we're still limited to quantities of a whole number (no fractions in the checkout) so we can't sell by the metre and then enter 1.25 in the quantity in the checkout for 1.25 metres. There's no way to change this for the current version of the online shop (maybe one day in the future).
In the end, what was most important was being able to get Tessuti's fabrics out to people who can't make it into Tessuti's shops. Now anyone, anywhere can enjoy Tessuti's fabrics, and I feel proud to be a part of that.
Ken.
Sad to see that you've closed your Bondi store.
I've had a bit of a look around at the new site and I'm really impressed! Its great that there are multiple photos of the fabrics, from different distances etc so you can get a feel for the scale of the print/texture etc. Might be nice to see one photo that demonstrates the drape/crispness of the fabric somehow? I'm thinking like draped over a bolt maybe, or scruched up a little?
I love the online shop and the gorgeous fabrics.
I would also like to comment on how EXTREMELY efficient you are when fabrics are ordered online.
Thank you heaps!!
From Jan.
