Pattern Review – Vogue 8295

We had our last Sew Inn classes for 2010 in Tessuti Surry Hills last Saturday. It was a great end to a fabulous term and we’ll be updating the website with the new dates for 2011 Term 1 very soon.

In the meantime here’s a sneek peek at this pretty skirt made by Sew Inn regular Marita. The pattern used for this circular skirt is Vogue 8295 made up in our Japanese Cotton Edo Garden Red.

Sew Inn teacher, Georgia had Marita make up a calico muslin of the yoke before cutting it out in her chosen fabric. Georgia knew that there were some fit issues with the yoke piece in this pattern – take note if you consider making it. View D skirt was used and instead of a contrast hem, Marita opted to cut the band in the self fabric. The length of skirt is just perfect as are these Melissa ‘Sweet Lip‘ flaties. Think I’d love a pair of these for Xmas!
