Sallieoh and our March giveaway!
Meet another of my all time favourite sewing bloggers… sallieoh. I’ve been following (lurking about) her blog for a while, in awe of her creations and totally inspired to make a similar jacket , fitted pants or top just like hers!
I was thrilled to find out that Sallie is one of our online customers as well all the way from Texas, USA!!!!
Here’s Sallie wearing a fabulous dress made up in 100% Silk Pick A Bloom for a recent wedding! The pattern used was Rachel Comey dress Vogue 1209, a stunning result despite discovering that the pattern muslin needed some major tweeking here and there and some lining issues. A little perseverance goes a long way!
So since we haven’t had our March giveaway yet, I suggest a 2 metre piece of Pick A Bloom to be the giveaway for this month, simply leave a comment below, letting us know what you’d make with this pretty silk.

I love Sallie's blog too. Her sewing is SO inspiring. Well if I had this lovely piece of silk I would make the Rachael Comey Navigator blouse (Vogue Pattern).
Gorgeous creation, Sallie! I think this fabric would be perfect for a dress for my sister's birthday in June.

Beautiful dress, and beautiful fabric, I tried to get some myself but it was sold out 🙁 but Yeah! for give aways:) I too would make a dress, something with a 1930's flare, a la Ginger Rogers, so long and flowy to show off the body of the fabric.
Excuse me! Are you giving away this fabric? I fell in love since I saw Sallie's dress. Just admiring it would be great, but I'm thinking of a dress.

Gorgeous! I would use the fabric to make the Rachel Comey top Sallie made – would be perfect with jeans or cigarette pants.
I'm a fan of Sallie's blog too. I'd make a classic tie neck blouse with this silk, as I'm not sure the kids would appreciate such a lovely, light fabric if I wore it as a dress. Grubby little hands!

this fabric is amazing! and i think it calls for being made into a beautiful dress, then lounging in the garden, sipping iced tea, wearing a massive hat!

Wow what a beautiful dress made with stunning fabric. If I had the body i would make that exact dress but alas I haven't. Still would make a dress though, just a different one.
I have a super-simple pattern I use for work tops. Can't remember the name or brand, but it's only got three pieces if I make the version with cap sleeves and a cowl front, and it's perfect for print like this because of the large pieces (also it's super quick, super comfy and always looks chic). Cut on the bias the drape in a silk version is gorgeous. That's what I'd make with this.
I'd love to make a top out of this fabric, I think it would look amazing made up into a pendrell, or something else with some ruffles.
I would make something for my 12 yr old daughter; the fabric is totally pretty but not babyish yet not so grown up that she would look like an 18 yr old (something the shops haven't figured out that some of us mum's don't want!).
I would make a little shift dress so I can dream of sunny days.
I found your blog through Sallie! I just started sewing (a few weeks ago) and have been digging through lots of sewing blogs. I'd make a simple dress to show off that gorgeous print, maybe a tank dress… nothing as exciting as the Rachel Comey!
It will be perfect for some of the patterns in that new Japanese pattern book I got!
Super pretty! and Silk!! Don't think I could attempt anything like Sallie's; maybe something like the Lissette Continental dress is more my range. To be honest, anything made with in 'pretty' and 'silky' would look great!
Very nice fabric! I think I would make a long sleeve blouse with a tie scarf neckline. Something lovely and feminine to wear under a work-type jacket.
I love this dress so much! Not sure that I could make something as beautiful with this amazing fabric as Sallie has done but I would definitely give it my best shot! Maybe Colette's Oolong or a simple shift dress to show off the amazing fabric!

I think I would try the Burda A-Line Dress #108B. A simple Aline dress to let the fabric be the feature.
So lovely! I always love what Sallie makes, and it's hard to go wrong with any of your fabric.
I think I would make a Sencha blouse from the lovely silk print, but with a lower neckline for Spring.
I have quite fair skin, so I think it would look pretty as the skirt of this 1940s sundress with a purple bodice

I think I'd make a dress. Something floaty and cool. Alternatively, a ruffly, flouncy blouse that could be worn with jeans or white linen pants.

I would make a blouse and use some of the offcuts to line cuffs in a jacket I'm making (and possibly the underside of the collar too and the pocket linings). Depending on the amount left, I may combine it with a plain fabric to make a skirt – maybe matching the purple or even black panels…

I just discovered her blog a little bit ago and I adore it too! I'd make a pretty blouse with a color and buttons so that I could wear it with anything and everything.
I too am working on creating this dress. I am trying to work out the linig issues and have just corrected the peplum fit. Luckily I am only making it in some op shop fabric, as I wanted to tweak the fit. I would love to make the corrected dress in this fabric, as I can see how lovely Sallie's version looks!

What a confident sewer – at first glance I wouldn't have chosen fabric with such large pattern features for that particular dress. She has made a lot effort in cutting to balance the colours. And what an inspiration! I have a wedding coming up soon and I'll look for a pattern that will make the most of the gorgeous design, and is within my capacity!
