Back again after the success of our last Help Adrian post, here are two fabrics from a recent shipment we’ve received. There’s a fabulous drapey polyester/elastane jersey (above) and black/white printed ponti (below).
Can you come up with a great name for the fabrics pictured above? If we choose your suggestion, you’ll receive two metres of the fabric you’ve named! Name one or name both, we appreciate any suggestions.

My suggestions: for the first fabric 'parallel lines' and for the second fabric 'moon shadows'.
I am going to resist the temptation to ruin a beautiful fabric like the ponti by suggesting "50 Shades of Grey" (mind you, it would probably sell like hot cakes) but it could be called Moonlit Shadows.
The first roll of fabric just screamed something indigenous to me, so I suggest calling it 'Dreamtime'.
The second fabric feels moon like or planetary so I would call it 'curiosity' after the Mars robot.
Both beautiful.

first one: urban planner (all those lines and shades makes me think of a map); and
second one: curiosity (looks like a picture from the latest Mars mission
Navajo and stormy moon are my suggestions.
The first fabric says "cityscape" to me. And the second one is "splodge".
My thought for the first fabric is "Ravenna" and for the second one "Biloshi".

For the first one I suggest the name 'Lines on Lines', and for the second one, 'Negative Inverse'.
The first fabric is 'bark painting' and the second is 'ink spots through the wash'

The first fabric: 'Stripes on snakes'. Or 'Tiwi Stripes' (Tiwi Island art uses lots of cross-hatch & stripes).
The second fabric: 'Splat-tastic'. Or 'Splat-a-tat-tat'.
The inkblot one has to be "Rorschach's".

'crosshatch' for the first and 'ink storm' for the second 🙂
The first fabric I suggest African trail and the second moonlight spray. Both gorgeous!

The second, Ink Spots
The second one "Potion Commotion". It reminds me of a print I have where something is boiling furiously over the top of a pot whilst the holder of the pot is wearing a fabulous frock. This week my daughter asked me why all the science they do at school is boring and why they can't learn about which potions to add to other potions. I guess she has been re-reading her witch books!
The first fabric reminds me of 'pathways' and the second fabric 'black cosmos' or 'spinoza'

The first one 'odds and ends'or 'fractured' and the second one 'negative images'.
The first one reminds me of what Picasso would paint if he did a crazy geometric number. I'd call it 'Picasso stripes'. The second one also reminds me of art…It looks like a drop sheet…so maybe i'd call it 'arts a mess'. Wow I'm not so good at this game… good luck everyone 🙂

The first one is Zig Zag Dreaming. The second is Cloud Illusion.
Very nice fabrics! I see the first as a mock wrap dress and the second as a very arty skirt.
I think the first fabric should be "The Wright Line" in homage to Frank Lloyd Wright and the second reminds me of black and white graffiti on city walls so it should be "Splashes of the City."

I suggest "Tribal Lines" for the first fabric, and "Storm Clouds" for the second fabric.
The first fabric could be: Original pathways
The Second Fabric could be: Industrial Party
The geometry and architectural style of the first print make me think of the great silent movie, "Metropolis", while the second print makes me think of astronomy, I would call it, "Nebula" 🙂
Fashion Track for the first one and Night Clouds for the second
The first fabric reminds me of dense bushland, so I suggest for it "diramu" (Aboriginal for tree), and the second reminds me of looking deep into the night sky, so I suggest for it "buduwangung" (Aboriginal for the Magellanic clouds) or "warriwul" (Aboriginal for the Milky Way).

the first fabric I would name it play on parrallels and the second one I would call it cosmic nero. Both are wonderful pieces
The first one is Fletcher's Feather – it looks like cut feathers ready to be inserted int o arrow shafts by a fletcher. The second, Ice Bloom. It's like the frost patches you get on the inside of windows on a dark freezing night.
Pollock Storm for the second and maybe Escher Climbs for the first. Hey, this is fun.
What a great job Adrian has! I like the way he is protecting his anonymity. I was going to call the first one "Goodness Gracious Me" but in praise of Adrian I will call it "Anonymous" and the second fabric "Boogie Nights"
second one – shades of night
For #1 I'd call it 'down the rabbit hole' – it reminds me of a crazy universe a la Alice in Wonderland.
I would call #2 'New Moon' — I unashamedly like the Twilight books!

Hatched Lanes for the first (because it looks like, well, cross hatched laneways); and Spatter Storm for the second.

All the contributions so far are hard to beat. My suggestions:
Fabric # 1 – Cultivation (it looks like an aerial shot of cultivated fields)
Fabric # 2 – Elusive Moon
I like Frank's Window for the first because it's reminiscent of a Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass.
The second looks like Midnight in the Garden.
The second one looks like it should be Dappled Shadow Nights.
I would like to name the first fabric "Apache Winter" and the second "vesuvias Cloud"
The second should be rainforest mist. Lisa Aikin
The first one is Year 12 Graphics, the second one is Year 12 Art.

The first material looks like men's power ties… so "Power Tie" and the Ponti looks like "Dark side of the Moon" to me 🙂

'Kuroi Mizu' meaning black water in Japanese for the second one.

Hello I would call the first fabric "clarice"
It reminds me of the beautiful Art Deco Potter
"Clarice Cliff"
The second fabric has a lovely Japanese feel about it so I would call that one
"Kyoto" Because of it's beautiful gardens

The first one: "crossroads" or "how the zebra got his stripes"
The second one: "man in the moon" – for some reason it looks a bit like the man in the moon…
The first one reminds me of some kind of Native American fabric but, on closer inspection looks like pencil lines. So my suggestion for that one is "Navajo Sketchbook". It's a lovely print!
There are some great suggestions here and I'm not sure if I can compete, but here are my suggestions:

For the 2nd fabric – the ponti – I would call it: Banksy

Maybe I've been watching too much Poirot again, but the first makes me think of smoke and mirrors and want to say "Suivez-moi".
The second looks like a stormy moonlit night, and I don't think I could top Jeso's suggestion above of "luna splash", that is an awesome name for it.
Love love love number 2 : "1995" – reminds me of being a teenager!
My suggestions would be:
1. polyester/elastane jersey: Cubism
2. black/white printed ponti: Marshlands
For the second fabric I suggest a trip to the moon after the George Melies film. This year is the 110th anniversary of the film and this fabric is not only reminiscent of the moon surface but has the tones and textures of the black and white film.

The top one reminds me a little of (albeit b&w) paul klee paintings. The bottom one – moonlight ink blotch.
