2013 Tessuti Awards
It’s on again! We are SO excited to launch the 2013 Tessuti Awards with this year’s theme – Red, Hot and Black. We’re asking you to create a knee-length dress that’s all about the ‘wow’ and ‘now’ – something that looks equally fabulous at a show-stopping red carpet event, a swanky cocktail party, the races or a fancy formal wedding!
This year, we’ve selected two fabrics that you can use – Flame Red and Phantom Black. Create a dress using either fabric (not both) and you could be in with a chance to win one of two first prizes of a return international flight (valued at up to AUD $2500) to your destination of choice! That’s right, we’re awarding first prize to TWO lucky winners – one for best red dress and one for best black dress.
For further details and entry info, check out the official Tessuti Awards website. And for all the latest news, be sure to ‘like’ us on Facebook.
Get sewing folks and (I know we say it every year) we can’t WAIT to see your creations!
Oh, and special thanks again to the the enormously talented Emma Leonard for once again illustrating our Awards poster. You’re a star Emma!
Yah! Just logged on and saw this!! I just received a gift voucher from Tessuti for my birthday from my very thoughtful hubby and boys. Can't wait to get my thinking cap on.
I get so excited each year about the awards and the best part is being able to choose from all your beautiful fabrics to make a dress I'd like to wear.
I like the theme but am so disapointed we have to use a chosen fabric… and polyester too!!!!
Hi holliebelle.
As Tessuti Awards time rolls around again, we recognise that our chosen fabrics/themes/timelines/criteria are never going to please everyone every time. It's the nature of the competition and whilst we would like to make it appealing to all, it's just not realistic to do so.
Despite being polyester, I can assure you that both fabrics are of a high quality and I encourage you to check out both fabrics (or request samples) as you may be pleasantly surprised.
Cheers
oh oh oh! so exciting!
So sad the dress must be a size 10 – I want to make something that I can wear and this is too big for me..
I was looking forward to the 2013 Tessuti Awards and was planning on entering. However I am disappointed that the dress must be a size 10 when I am a 12-14. I wish this could be offered across all sizes so that we can model the dresses ourselves.
