OUR NEW PATTERN :: MEET THE CLAUDIA DRESS
So here in Australia we’ve just entered the final month of summer and while we could start releasing autumn patterns, we’ve decided to hold onto the sunny season for just a little bit longer so we can introduce you to our latest pattern – the Claudia Dress.
Claudia is all about the cool and all about the comfortable. Just the kind of dress you’ll want to throw on when the forecast is hot and steamy. She features a square neckline, narrow shoulder straps, bust darts and the all important side pockets. For maximum ventilation and easy movement, the side splits are above the knee. There’s also a lovely wide hem which is finished with a cute topstitching detail.
The Claudia Dress has been inspired by a clean, simple silhouette that’s all the rage right now. We’ve put together this selection of inspiration photos for you so you can see how great it looks, even when layered over a top or tee.
Gabby’s version (above) up is made up in our Linda Ice Blue linen and Claudia’s (below), our Linda Navy (currently sold out).
We’ve designed the dress to sit low at the back, but not so low that you can’t wear with it without a bra. I’m wearing a strapless one in my stripe version (below) which is made up in our One Way Lines. You can adjust the strap length to suit your preference, allowing the armholes to sit higher or lower.
Suitable fabrics include medium to heavy-weight linens or linen blends and cottons. The Claudia Dress is now available in Australian sizes XXS-XL. She’s currently available in PDF (print-at-home/print copy shop version) or, if you prefer, you can purchase the hard copy (for a limited time) online and instore.
THANK YOU!!!!!! i’ve been trying to find this sort of design for ages – i love the “apron” look of the high neck and straps. i even have fabric ready for this. Absolute gem!!
I could definitely go for the Claudia dress if it had a wider, A-line skirt.
Hello Tesutti,
I love this dress. I have the pattern and have just checked the measurements and the largest size is a couple of cm too small in the hip and bust for me. Could I increase it slightly by adding the cm’s in the centre front?
Is the claudia hard copy pattern available at any uk stockist?
Hi Valerie. You can try Fabric Godmother or Sew Wardrobe
Hi just wondering how I can get the pattern for the dress and also other patterns. Thanks
Hi Helen. All our patterns are available here – https://www.tessuti-shop.com/collections/pattern-books
I was searching for a dress like this! I would also like it in a v neck version. Is this possible? Could I copy the neckline from the Sadie? thanks in advance.
Hi Margaret. As the Sadie is cut on the bias (and Claudia is not), we wouldn’t recommend copying that neckline.
