Sewing classes in Brisbane???
April 10, 2010
Hello readers,
I have a question from Lexley, who is wanting to know of any sewing workshop/classes in the Brisbane area?
You’re comments will be greatly appreciated and I will add them to our Sewing Classes link on the sidebar.
regards

Hello Colette
I frequent Gardams, a Brisbane fabric institution. I noticed a poster in their window for sewing classes. I have'nt taken them or know of anyone who has – just a suggestion – Lexley might like to give them a ring (Indooroopilly store) – the staff are really helpful.

Hi – I'd like to know of some as well. Something like the ones shown on for Sydney!
Gardams at I'pilly do run sewing classes as do Spotlight but theirs is held at Browns Plains or Salsbury I think.
I can recommend Ana Fataccioli at The Sewing Workshop at Logan Rd Mt Gravatt. I have taken Sewing and Pattern making classes with her over the past 18 mths. She runs classes all year for all skill levels with a max of 5 students at a time. www. anafataccioli.com
Sewco at Mt Gravatt runs lots of sewing and quilting classes.
Meanwhile, I would LOVE to know if anyone runs patternmaking workshops in Brisbane please.
Gardams definitely do sewing classes they have started with basic classes and will be adding new ones in the coming months. All the participants are really enjoying them. All classes are at Indooroopilly.
I teach dressmaking from Basic to Advanced (including basic pattern alteration) at Sewco Sewing Centre. Classes are project based, structured, and each one covers a particular skills set. http://www.sewcosewingcentres.com/mtgvtclasses.htm

Hi, I've just started a sewing class for beginners. I'm located in Albany Creek on the northside of Brisbane. If any one is interested please contact me via Facebook. Visit my facebook page Sew & Stitch Sewing Classes. I can provide information from there.
Hiya kitty.
Do you still do classes? I tried looking on facebook for Sew & Stitch Albany Creek but couldn't see you there.
Thanks.
I live in Warner and have an 18yr old son who wants to make a career out of making anime costumes. He has extremely limited sewing experience and needs to start somewhere. I have looked at other courses which takes him through making a skirt and a pair of pants. Once he has developed a little skill on the machine, he will be doing a fashion design and pattern cutting course to learn how to turn a drawing into a pattern and then a garment. What are you able to offer to help him on his way? Would prefer to deal with someone local so we can always guarantee that he can attend classes.
As we don't have a store in Brisbane, I can only suggest that you contact those who have been referred to in the comments above. Good luck!
