More baby news…and McCalls 4968.
I have more exciting baby news. Today at 12.01pm Emma gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!!!
Zac weighed 8lb1oz (3.65kg) and measured 50cm long. As I don’t yet have baby photos to share, I thought I’d post about another wonderful maternity creation by Emma.
Here she is back in November last year at around 6 months in a caftan style tunic top made using pattern McCalls 4968 – view A. The stunning fabric is 100% cotton voile Emilio Pucci print from our last Italian summer collection. The backdrop is Tessuti’s crushed cotton/polyamide jersey knit in Grey Marle.
Alterations made to the pattern were shortening of the sleeves, making them 3/4 length. Also Emma reduced the shoulder width and brought in the armhole, she found it too broad across the shoulders. Her original tunic top ended up with drop shoulders – as portrayed on the pattern cover, Emma wanted a narrow and neat set-in-sleeve look…far more flattering!
Congratulations Emma and Mike, we can’t wait to meet and cuddle little Zac. We are thinking of you and send all our love.
