October 19, 2009
Look what just arrived in our latest delivery of cotton novelty prints.
This fabulous printed cotton Home Sewing Is Easy would make a wonderful skirt, dress, apron, sewing machine or ironing board cover.
I had seen this comical print in an earlier post on Christina’s blog almost 2 years ago. It’s originally from a vintage sewing booklet by Sally Stitch…..isn’t it fabulous?
Home Sewing Is Easy is available at Surry Hills and online (and arriving soon in our Melbourne store).

A skirt? Tell me you're joking.
I love it to, but I am not sure what to do with it. Maybe a cushion?
Oh my goodness, this just made my day! You are right, that would make a great ironing board cover – think of what a laugh you'd have every time you had to press something.
Gail….it's all a bit of fun, and only for the brave hearted. A skirt for a little one would look pretty cute too!
Ooooh, this would be great for a sewing-machine cover too.
Well ok ….on second thoughts maybe you're right Gail. Scrap the skirt and dress idea!
I made this into a skirt, and it looks fantastic. I get so many comments on it when I wear it – all positive and envious!
Nothing wrong with putting a little fun into your day, I say.
