Gabby’s Turia Dungarees
December 7, 2015
Since Lisa made hers, my daughter Gabby has been wanting to try out Paulina Alice‘s Turia Dungarees. She has some store-bought blue denim ones on high rotation and has been lusting for a black pair in a soft drapey fabric so decided to finally try out the pattern in her weekly sewing class.

With some guidance from Nonna Silva, Gabby made some alterations to the pattern. For a neater finish, she added a facing to the inside waistline and slimmed down the outer leg by 7cm. Like Lisa’s, she only added one side zipper instead of the suggested two.
The fabric is perfect for this style and is our linen/viscose Black Otter (available all Tessuti stores and soon online). It’s got just the right amount of body, drape and given that the fabric was difficult to work with for a beginner I have to say she did a pretty amazing job! I’m proud of you Gabby.
Love Mum xx 😉

Awesome pair of Turia's! Great minds think alike? I was just thinking last night I'd like to make another pair, in your linen this time 😉
Oh I love this! 2018 has got to be the year I learn how to sew clothes 🙂
