Team Made with Lurex Jersey
Our Lurex Jersey collection can be anything from a little bit casual to a little bit dressy, with the perfect dash of classy sparkle. A 78% nylon, 19% lurex and 3% elastane blend, it’s lightweight, super soft on the inside and available in six excellent colours.
Our Melbourne team each chose a favourite and sewed up these simple patterns to show just how versatile it really is.

Claire made our Brigitte Top in the Navy Lurex Jersey and is wearing it with her Tamiko Pants.

Like Claire I also went with the Brigitte Top, this time in Espresso, lengthening at the hemline and sleeves for thumbholes (and bonus hand warmth).

Anna was also in camp Navy and went with a simple elastic waist skirt for supreme wearability.

Though the Rae Top is intended for woven fabrics, Vicki shows that sometimes it’s AOK to deviate from fabric recommendations. She made her Rae in the Morello Lurex Jersey and look how beautifully it gathers!

For an easy casual look, Karen (below) went for our classic Mandy Boat Tee in Navy.

Liz (below) sewed up the Isla Top in Espresso, cropping the length and adding an elastic at the hemline for a blousey effect.

Colette (below) also made up the Isla Top, exactly as per the pattern. Both her and Liz are wearing it with Chiara Pants.

With the right pattern choice, this jersey can easily transition from something casual into a more dressy style. A two piece pants and top set would work magnificently (also, GREAT for travel), and a wrap/tie front dress would be an all-over wow. For a more fitted style of dress we would definitely suggest a lining, so get in touch for some recommendations.

Thanks Lisa. This is such a great blog post – really useful ideas about a fabric I wouldn’t have otherwise considered, but clearly so valuable for a dressy (or casual) top. Unrelated (but sort of related query) Re Claire’s outfit – are her Tamiko pants made from a Tessuti linen? If so, which wright please? I am always looking to find a suitable lighter weight linen for pants – these look perfect!! Many thanks again for this great post Lisa. (Marg, Brisbane)
