Dot Matrix Stretch Bengalene used both ways!
April 1, 2008
Eva has made this great shift dress out of Tessuti’s ‘Blue Dot Matrix’ Polyester/Elastane Bengalene in a discontinued Butterick pattern. This style of dress is a classic style and can be found in all pattern catalogues. What I wanted to show was how well Eva utilized both sides of this dress fabric.
The spot side you see on the skirt is actually the right side of the fabric. The spot print is woven through the fabric a bit like a jacquard and when you look at the reverse side -this fabric is striped.
Doesn’t it look great? Another great article mentioned in Christina’s blog. Written by Ann Steeves for Threads – shows how to utilize stripes/grainlines in different ways to create great effects.
I love fabrics like this; two for the price of one. Great fitting job on this and just how perfect is that necklace!
