Wow! That is an amazing giveaway. And how exciting I am the first to comment. I love love love Colette patterns. I have used a few of them now and they are great. Their new collection is coming out tomorrow and I will definately be buying more. They are just so easy to follow and go together without any hassles.
That's a fantastic prize. Love the blog. My favourite pattern is a simple BWOF Boat neck top that I've made about 6 times. It's not very exciting but it looks great with everything!Eithne
This is wonderful! I love, love, love fabric! My favorite pattern is a simple A-line skirt from the 1940's. I have made it about 5 times – and it always fits and looks wonderful!
Happy Birthday to your blog..I visit a few times a week to find a great source of information, links and the fabrics are lovely. My sister has just moved from here to Melbourne and I hope to visit (you)HER next year:)My tip is the PatternReview.com website which I love for all sorts of sewing reasons;the reviews, patterns, tips, ideas, pictures etc. Best wishes for the next year. Maureen Ryan at oceanfree dot net
My favourite pattern is a trouser pattern from Vogue, with a fly front. I must have made it 6 times at least! Happy birthday to your blog, I like looking at what's happening in your part of the world. Regards. val.mourat at orange.fr
One of my patterns that has stood the test of time (doesn't even have the date on it) is Butterick 4704. It's a classic pants pattern that is easy to adjust for fit and the current fashions.
My current favorite pattern is Hot Patterns' Marrakesh Pant. I have made it four times in the past month! HP's L-shaped crotch curve fits me really well and makes my derriere look fabulous – you can't get any better than that. 🙂 I LOVE your blog, it's very inspiring.
Happy anniversary! My current favorite pattern is BWOF 10-2009-113 – it is such a great dress and fits beautifully, and is perfect for work.
Oh I would love to win this giveaway… I could use it to get some fabric to make my favorite pattern from Jalie, the twist top (2788). I've made it so many times, I could do it my eyes closed, and I can wip this one out in one hour. Thanks
Happy Anniversary! What fun! My favorite pattern is a simple Burda T-shirt pattern. It's my go-to pattern when I need to make a top very quickly.
Rose in SV
I love the Jalie knit tops. I have 3 or 4 of them and have made them all 3 or 4 times.
Happy Blog Birthday!
gosh thats gone quick I still remember your 1st Birthday 🙂
I highly recommend the japanese patten books I use them all the time they are so versatile and easy to follow, plus I love the simple lil girl patterns quick and easy!
Happy blog birthday! I love reading your pattern reviews and seeing the new fabrics as they arrive.
My favourite pattern right now is New Look 6775. I've made it 3 times for summer – in a striped denim from Tessuti, a gold metal/silk blend from Tessuti, and white linen.
Happy 2nd Blog Birthday 🙂
My most used pattern is Vogue 7802, a great Betzina A-Line skirt that I must have made about 4 times in various Tessuti stretch denims – it is a very flattering cut with nice seam detail panels. Vicki
Happy birthday! Love your fabrics – wish I was closer to Melbourne! My favorite patterns are 2 knit tops from Jalie and Ottobre. I've made them numerous times as-is and have morphed them into new styles.
Happy anniversary. Such a great giveaway with a wonderful prize. My favourite pattern at the moment is by Tristano Onofri in Burda's February edition of this year. It's at the same time casual and chic.
I love your fabrics and blog and congratulations on 2 years. My favourite pattern is Vogue 9537, I have made these pants up in all sort of fabrics for all the seasons.
Happy Anniversary Colette! I always enjoy reading your blog. I have lots of favourite patterns. Nearly all of them are knit tops but the one pattern I have sewn the most is an Ottobre pattern (a pattern magazine from Finland). They have the best basic knit tops patterns.
Congrats – my favourite pattern is from an ancient Burda magazine. It has a twist at the front and covers a multitude of sins!
Vogue 8241 (http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V8241.htm). So simple (no zips or darts), but in light drapey fabrics this dress is my favourite. It looks good and is comfortable to wear.
Happy blog birthday! Your blog always shows very inspiring use of fabric and pattern. My favorite pattern combines fabric with a shape that fits me well — Textile Studio Santa Monica tee. I love it because it's simple and lets amazing fabric be the star, it has raglan sleeves which I like, and it sews together very fast and looks nice alone or under jackets. In fact, I have plans to sew this pattern again this weekend!
Happy Second Blog-Birthday!! I hope your interesting and inspiring posts continue for many more years to come!
My favourite pattern is a basic gored skirt pattern I drafted myself – I've used it 5 times now and have to actively stop myself from making more from it by reminding myself that I don't need a wardrobe full of the same skirt.
Hurrah for Tessuti and for your blog birthday! Very generous giveaway too.
I'm just beginning to dip my toes into sewing clothing, and hoping some of your lovely japanese sewing books will help me out there. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying reading this blog: http://www.blogforbettersewing.com/ – love Gertie and her vintage style and the whole idea behind it.
Oh happy birthday!!! Congratulations – this is a great blog with plenty of inspiration. I love reading others reviews – especially when the fabric is from Tessuti.
My favourite pattern would have to be an Ottobre children's one which I have made about 3 times – they are very cool slim line pants for my son and are adorable. Fingers crossed – I'd love to win.
My favourite pattern is winging it. When I buy fabric I like to imagine what it will look like on me. I go home and blindly give it a go. I generally use a favourite item of clothing as a base and then I turn the fabric into it's own creation. I know it's not a real pattern but I can honestly say I have never used a pattern and I really want to enter this giveaway!!
My favourite pattern is Jalie 2000 – a pants pattern that fits perfectly straight out of the envelope (and here I thought I would never find one!). I think that nearly all of my current wardrobe pants come from this pattern. A definite fave!
My tip/ pattern is the old Enid Gilchrist pattern books. My sewing teacher put me on to them. I love being able to mix and match bodices and skirts to make a dress, and she includes all these neat trim options so you can make two dresses from the same pattern that look totally different. I prefer the 50s editions to the 70s – the measurements fit me better, but that's a personal thing.
Happy Birthday Tessuti! I love your blog, and the inspirations provided along with it! My favourite pattern at the moment is Vogue DKNY 1027, and also the favourite top pattern very generously provided by Tessuti on their blog. I have made the top three times now, and have to stop myself from making it. My favourite website is Gertie's Blog for Better Sewing. Her garments are magnificent and I love her discussions of feminism etc. Happy Blog Birthday!

Happy 2nd birthday! I get such inspiration from your blog, and I'd love to win some of your beautiful fabric.
One of my favorite patterns is Kwik Sew 2694–a cross front/wrap knit top. I've made it a number of times with variations, and I love it for the great fit.
I love Melly and Me patterns, softies are the only thing I can't usually manage to make up myself so they're a massive help!
I like Sew Mama Sew for tutorials!
The pattern I love the most at the moment is the one I just made for a client. I have never had a garment fit 3 completely different sized women soooooo well – it gives me goosse-bumps!
As a rookie sewer and someone a little self-conscious of post-baby bumpy bits, I've been having fun with New Look 6778. It's super simple, roomy and cool to wear in the tropics.
love your blog! I finally got to visit the Surry Hills store recently and was in fabric heaven and staff were wonderful.
My tip is to lay fabrics such as chiffon and georgette on another fabric like flannelette (with a slight pile) for cutting out _ helps stop frustration of fabric slipping.
congrats!
A simple but very elegant summer dress I had made in 5 different fabrics. I needed nothing else but shoes and a cardy/shawl that summer 🙂
Congrats on the anniversary!
Love the name!!!!
And a tip – keep your style 🙂
Lovely gift! My fave patterns is the Farbenmix "Berit" vest and pant pattern for kinder kids. An easy pattern to customise for little boys jeans or just lounge wear. Just got my first tessuti mail this weekend.
It feels like I've used Purl's simple Mister Blue Bird pattern so much lately. It makes such a great topper to gifts and for this season as partridges! Thanks for this wonderful giveaway!

Hurrah for your second anniversary! I'd be challenged to name a favorite pattern, since I usually make my own variations on my homemade patterns, but another really helpful site is the discussion forums at Stitchers Guild, there are so many knowledgable folks there that answere questions and share what they know, and what they're working on…
Hi Colette, The passion you put into choosing such beautiful Tessuti fabrics and your regular blog posts are much appreciated. I have many favourite patterns, but one that comes to mind is dress #117 from the February 2009 Burda Fashion Magazine. I've made this a couple of times already, including from Tessuti's Vincent Cotton Satin fabric. Happy anniversary!
Happy blogversary. My fave pattern is Burda 9793. A simple pair of boys shorts but I find sewing for boys very hard and I love being able to make my little boy something.
Happy Anniversary. i just love your Blog. My go to pattern is a skirt pattern by McCalls. I could make it in my sleep but I just love the way it looks and feels on.
I've made myself a couple dresses from McCall's 4769. I love shirtwaist dresses for their retro styling and the fact they're easy to fit to my pear shape.
Happy Birthday Tessuti.
My current most used pattern is Simplicity 4149. I have used the caftan top many times recently and added purchased braids to enhance the style – so cost effective to make compared with the prices in all the designer shops!
Here's a tip: Don't use your shirt as a pincushion. It's no good when you forget to take the pins out before pulling your shirt off. 🙂
I love the Amy Butler Barcelona skirt pattern. Its simple and well explained and having made it a few times I now feel like I can tackle more complex projects.
Happy blogavesary and thanks for the great giveaway. I am in love with burda 8090 A-line skirt
Great blog and great stores – happy anniversary! My favourite pattern is some wide legged 'samurai' pants for babies and toddlers. Its my own design and with only two pieces of fabric needed to be cut and they are so easy to make and so comfty to wear. Oh and my best tip is – get your machine serviced when you are supposed to, not 3 years later!!!
Great and favourite pattern – Vogue 9668 http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V9668.htm.
I'm actually wearing this version today http://sewretro.blogspot.com/2008/08/party-on.html and have made another one, too http://sewretro.blogspot.com/2008/11/blog-post.html
I love it because it's classic, easy to fit and modify, and sews up in a heartbeat. Don't be fooled by the daggy pattern illustration. This one's a corker!
Happy anniversary! I love your blog, its one of my favourites. My often sewed patterns are from a japanese sewing book called Skirt a la Carte. Lots of simple styles that are great for featuring interesting fabrics.
I know it's the pattern that ate the internet, and it's been around for a while, but I've made at least four versions of Simplicity 4589. It was a great pattern to use to get back into sewing after about 10 years away from it. I've made it with and without sleeves, in a range of fabrics, including some cotton voile that meant I had to line the front. There's a problem with the notches on the back, if you use the larger size pattern groupings. Check out reviews on patternreview.com, there's a lady on there who got Simplicity to admit there was a problem – and their solution still isn't right. But hers is.
Happy anniversary, Tessuti.blogspot.
Jenny
My new fav pattern is Vogue 8595. I have made it Amy Butler fabrics and am dying to make another one. the fit is fab; i just make sure i make it one size smaller than recommended and shorten the sleeves and the total length as well.
Happy blog anniversary – and here's to many more!
My current favorite versatile pattern is the BurdaStyle Ellinor tunic. So easy to change the overall length, the sleeve length, keep or omit the CF neck slit, etc.
McCall's M5591 is a great skirt pattern. It has just enough pleats to be floaty and fun without being too full. Thanks to everyone for all the great tips. Happy anniversary!
Hi to everyone at Tessuti. When are you coming to Newcastle!!! I have never been able to buy such wonderful fabric anywhere else.
My most recent creation has been with Butterick 5314 in Roberto Cevalli silk from Tessuti. It looks like a million dollars and sews easily. So many comments when I wore it….very 1st Lady! There are 2 styles in the pattern and I plan to make more!
Thank you for a fantastic fabric store and Blog janelle_smith@exemail.com.au
Happy Birthday Tessuti! My tip: use woolly nylon in your bobbin when sewing knit fabrics – it gives you some stretch without having to over stretch as you sew, just take care when winding it on to your bobbin – don't overstretch it – maybe bypass a tension guide and use your hand to moderate the speed.

Happy birthday and thanks for being so generous with this great giveaway. My favorite pattern is a vintage Vogue Jean Muir pattern no:1153. Because it's so versatile. I made it several times once with original Jean Muir fabric, purchased from her factory when the company was still open. Even though I've made it several times it looks total different each time. The dress is made in two parts; I can use the top part and add it to other skirts or lower parts of dresses. I can do the same to skirt section and chop and change using other tops or blouses to change the look.
My tip: Use cans of soup or baked beans as weights to hold down slippery fabric while you pin the pattern to it.
