Pattern Review – Vogue 8860
Here’s Nasrin’s fantastic new winter coat made up in our Italian textured wool jacquard from last winter (sold out). The pattern used is Very Easy Vogue 8860, a great basic pattern with options for hooded, stand collar or collarless coat (note: there is a wider sleeve option too, see view A)
Nasrin cut out view B and added a fox fur collar, bought at the Portobello Markets. After toiling the pattern, Nasrin found the sizing quite generous so cut her coat a size smaller as well as lengthening it by approx 20cm to finish at the knee. The coat is lined in Black Print Lining and black 20mm satin snap fasteners (available only in black and at all Tessuti stores) are sewn beneath larger feature buttons, to avoid buttonholing this beautiful textured wool.
This pattern’s a winner and a great coat option for beginner sewers! Consider making this coat a size smaller than your usual size, as it is very loose fitting.

It's a lovely coat… apart from the fur!!! I can't believe someone would use real animal fur these days. Spoils an otherwise lovely garment, IMO.
been looking for a good coat pattern, that looks perfect!!
