Emilie’s back in Vogue 8805!
Sticking with the Liberty Of London theme after Lisa’s fabulous Darling Ranges Dress, here’s another great dress this time combining Liberty tana lawn with linen.
Remember newbie sewer Emilie from this post? I’m thrilled that she’s still on a roll after her beginners class last July and just completed this cute summer dress.
Emilie used pattern Vogue 8805, choosing to make it up in light weight navy linen and Liberty of London Mitsi Valeria Blue (sold out). Emilie successfully added her own touch to this pattern by making some slight modifications such as widening the neckline, shortening the sleeve as well as taking out some flare through the shoulder to hem, lengthening the mid panel and shortening the lower panel for just a trim at the hem. What can I say…she’s a natural!
That's so lovely! And I am even more excited because I only purchased that pattern online a few days ago. I can't wait to try it out!
What a clever idea when you only have a remnant or a small piece to sew with!
I love the modifications she made to make it her own! Gives me great ideas for making this up again…I bought this pattern last year and was looking for a reason to use it again – now I have the reason. Great job!
Beautiful. Love the use of colour blocking!
