Ruby Cubed = Triple Love
I started on my first Ruby late last year and due to some binding shennanigans, promptly stalled. You would think that by virtue of editing our patterns I’d be pretty good at following the instructions, right? Erm, this time no. Sewing with silk is not without its challenges but the thought of unpicking was unpalatable enough to cast the project aside until I felt better up to the task.
So the next time I went back to Ruby it was with a different fabric. I was lucky enough to grab a small piece of this swoon-y silk crepe de chine and really, I couldn’t imagine using it for anything BUT a Ruby Top. So with my first version still incomplete (and armed with that powerful knowledge of what NOT to do) I managed to nail it second – and sloooower – time ’round.
Ruby love? Yeah, just a little…

This is controversial, coming from me, but I think Ruby is my fave Tessuti pattern of all time. It has trumped the Gabby. Love all your versions Lisa, particularly the long linen version.
Indeed, HIGHLY controversial Rachel. Also, completely understandable.
Wow! Think I love the first Ruby the most, glad you went back to it. Reminds me I have some Tessuti shorts to go back to…
yes, how are those Esthers…?
Beautiful x 3 Lisa! I think I need a top version and a silk CDC dress…
Thanks for your inspiration Leith!
Love them all! Wearing my first Alice top which I am obsessed with so might need to try the Ruby next.
Always love to hear the word 'obsessed' and (insert pattern name). I think you'll like Ruby too.
All 3 are divine, Ruby is gorgeous.
Thanks MaciNic!
