Introducing the Ines Shirt Pattern
In November last year, Silva sewed a shirt sample to coincide with the release of a limited range of fabrics from Ikuntji Artists that we were carrying at the time. When we instagrammed, we also put some feelers out to gauge the pattern interest and the response to fabric and pattern was SO overwhelming, we decided to get to work immediately. So we’re thrilled to finally introduce you to our latest pattern – the Ines Shirt.
The Ines Shirt is a button-through boxy shirt with a slightly flared hem that features a back yoke, ‘floating’ patch pocket, hem facings and bracelet length sleeve (with tiny split) that can be worn down or turned up. The convertible (or turn over) collar does not have a traditional collar stand and sits flat against the neckline.
It’s a simple style that is completely timeless and, in addition to wearing it as a stand-alone shirt, it can also be worn open as a layering piece over tanks, tees and camisoles.
Silva is wearing her Ines Shirt below made up in our new Caged Grey, a Japanese cotton seersucker which is also available in Toffee, Onyx and Snow colourways.
This beautiful version below is made up in a denim/white tencel/linen called Women’s Business. You can purchase the fabric directly from Ikuntji Artists here. It’s also available in Black and White, Grey Ink on Blue, as well as 100% linen Blue/Charcoal.
The Ines Shirt features a single patch pocket that is not your standard patch pocket. This one has concealed stitching and is sewn on to create a floating, three-dimensional effect. It’s such a clever and simple way to elevate the humble patch pocket that we’ve put together this separate tutorial to both embellish on the instructions, as well as showing you how you can add it to any jacket or shirt style.
From our current collection, we recommend the following fabrics for Ines:
Bedford linen
The Ines Shirt comes in (Australian) sizes 6-16 and 16-22 is now available in both hardcopy and PDF copy shop/print-at-home versions.

Just made the Ines shirt in the beautiful Ikuntji Artist fabric. This is my 4th Tessuti pattern, the previous were three dresses. I love them. The sizing is fantastic, the instruction are superb and the finished product is modern and for an older person totally wearable. Found my new pattern shop.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment MN. Day made!
Hello from Boston! This happily just appeared in my insta feed. First, the model is gorgeous. Second, how do Australian sizes compare to US sizes?
