Introducing our new Tessuti Robe pattern
Meet our latest pattern – the Tessuti Robe. Designed in a classic style for maximum comfort, it’s perfect for lounging and layering and relaxing. Basically, all the good things.
The style is long and loose and features a neck band, dropped shoulders, wide bracelet length sleeves, sleeve bands and large patch pockets. Finishing touches include a tie belt that feeds through rouleau loops, as well as a hanging loop at the neckline.
Samples pictured below are made up in our Tea Rose Afternoon (left) and Wild Wattle (right) printed linens.
Wear it in the morning, the evening or all day long. It can be made longer or shorter to suit any preference and, depending on your fabric choice, can also be used as a beach cover up, duster or evening jacket.
The timing of this release is very deliberate because, with the upcoming holiday season, we think this robe makes the perfect gift. We made this matching drawstring bag which makes for a really gorgeous and simple add-on if you’re making one to give.
Bag dimensions are 28cm(11″) x 45cm(18″) and you’ll need to cut 2. If you need some guidance on how to make one of these bags, there are heaps of great online tutorials (go crazy). But if you’re looking for a good starting point, we like these three from Melly Sews, Lou Davis and Dhurata Davies.
The pattern is suitable for a wide range of lightweight woven fabrics including our Bedford and Linford linen, viscose, silk satin, soft cottons, double cotton gauze, rayon/silk velvet and, for the cooler months, lightweight wool like our Motiv wool crepe.
The pattern comes with four sizes included – Size 0 (6-8-10), Size 1 (10-12-14), Size 2 (14-16-18), Size 3 (18-20-22) – and is now available in both hardcopy and PDF copy shop/print-at-home versions. We can’t wait to see your versions and if you’re sharing them with us on Instagram, don’t forget to use the #TessutiPatterns #TessutiRobe hashtags.

I was wondering what the seam allowance is for this pattern. I did have a look around the pattern page and FAQs but couldn’t seem to find it. Just wondering because I don’t have an overlocker. Thank you.
Hi Sarah. All the details are included in the pattern instructions. Seam allowance is half an inch, unless specified otherwise. Hope that helps!
Great – thank you. I realise it would be in the instructions, but I have been caught out a few times in the past buying patterns that had really small seam allowances for overlocker only. Half an inch dounds good though 🙂
