DIY TIE TOP SEWING CLASS – SURRY HILLS

Run by Frances in our Surry Hills Sydney store, this new DIY Tie Top Sewing Class will teach you how to create a custom and unique top finished with tie closures in whichever place you choose. A great class for beginner and intermediate sewists alike, Frances will guide you on how to make basic pattern modifications to an existing top pattern to incorporate the perfect ties for your top, learning some handy design tips along the way.

You can use any simple block top pattern as your starting garment or choose one from our Tessuti pattern range. We recommend the Mattea Top, Kate Top, Felicia Pinafore Dress (bodice only) and Tavi Top. Ideally, you’ll be using a pattern you’ve made before so that you can spend more time making, less time fitting.

Students will need to bring their pattern of choice as well as fabrics, notions and sewing tools. With Frances’ expert guidance you’ll learn how to make the ties along with the necessary pattern adjustments which will allow you to incorporate the ties into your pattern. You’ll then cut out your pattern and spend the remaining class time sewing it up. Frances will be there along the way to help you with the sewing process.
