Pattern Review – Vogue 8291
Here is a great example to show that by making slight adjustments to a great basic pattern you can end up with a gorgeous top like the one Georgia is wearing here.
You remember Georgia earlier in her other wonderful Tessuti creations? Well here she is in our Black Fanfloral cotton print made up in Vogue 8291. Georgia has used style A and altered the pattern by shortening the length approx 15cm and adding 5 rows of shirring at the waistline…. For those of us with not as small a waist , you could add the shirring detail at the high hips ( as in style B).
Then to create the sweet puff sleeves Georgia shortened the sleeves and slashed it through the middle to add approx 7cm – to give the sleeve more fullness and added a teensey bit more to the sleeve head. The finished sleeve length is approximately 20 – 25cm.Lastly a row of narrow elastic was added about 2.5 cm above the sleeve hem edge.
I have to say that I am going to have to copy this top ( I hope you don’t mind Georgia )as this is the kind of style that I am loving at the moment – the 3/4 sleeves version would be great too.

Yes she is brilliant….we look forward to her coming into the store wearing her latest creations. Stay tuned for more as I will make sure to have my camera handy for when I see her next.
I love it! The fabric and the alterations turned a simple pattern into an outstanding top! Well done!
