Pattern Review Vogue 8630
Our very own Nasrin from Tessuti Chatswood store, is eagerly awaiting news on the arrival of her first grandchild this week…. very exciting!!!! To calm the nerves, Nasrin’s been keeping herself busy sewing and last Friday wore this latest creation into work. Using this wonderful Italian double wool knit from a few winters ago – she’d kept this knit in her stash thinking it might be made up into a suit, but then this Vogue pattern came along!
Custom Fit Vogue 8630 was used. Did you know that the Vogue Custom Fit patterns include separate pattern pieces for bra cup sizes A, B, C and D?
The only alterations made was to round off the collar peaks, eliminating the back split because the double knit had plenty of stretch and normally Nasrin has to add approx 2″ in length to her bodice pieces cause she’s longer in the body….but this time the pattern was just perfect. So for those of us not fortunate to be long waisted…. should check for this.

That is a TRULY beautiful dress and so well made. Fits just perfectly. Oh, and of course – the fabric is fab, too!
Hi, I am trying to complete this pattern and everything is looking great, except I cannot for the life of me figure out how to attach the collar!? The pattern looks like I am supposed to attach it in a way that leaves both the raw edge of the collar and the bodice collar exposed, but not another stept that completes it. Some friendly sewing advice would much appreciated.
